MOROCCO TOUR 6 ITINERARY

Day 1: Marrakech

Begin your Morocco travel adventure when you arrive at Marrakech Airport and are welcomed by your Berber Treasures driver to Morocco’s sparkling “Jewel of the South” – the wondrous old imperial city Marrakech, a highlight of all Morocco tours. Transfer to your Marrakech riad or hotel. Overnight in Marrakech riad.

Day 2: Marrakech

Full-day city tour of Marrakech with your expert local Marrakech travel guide. Your heritage tour of Marrakech showcases the city’s stunning past and allows you to immerse yourself in sights, sounds and smells of this captivating city. You explore the UNESCO world heritage old walled medina, La Bahia Palace, el-Badi Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs, Djemaa El-Fna Square with it magicians, story tellers and snake charmers as well as the incredible Marrakech souks and markets. Day 3: MarrakechTizi n’TichkaOuarzazate

This morning your Morocco travel adventure departs for the Morocco Sahara Desert with its beautiful kasbah villages, magnificent gorges and soaring sand dunes. Crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2260 m) as you descend the south eastern-side of the High Atlas Mountains you will catch your first views of the vast and amazing Morocco desert. Travel to Morocco s gateway to the Sahara Desert, the oasis town of Ouarzazate, strategically located on the crossroads of old desert camel caravan routes – formerly an important garrison town for the French Foreign Legion and now the movie making capital of Morocco. Overnight in Ouarzazate kasbah. (Breakfast)

Day 4: OuarzazateD’raa Valley Oasis – N’Kob – M’Harech (M’Harch) Oasis


Making your way south east you traverse the mountains between the Jbel Saghro Mountains and the Anti-Atlas Mountains and enter the beautiful D’raa Valley with the largest date palm groves in Morocco. Explore the palm groves and the small Berber villages scattered along the edges of the D’raa River. Here you can share the delicious sweet Berber Moroccan tea with one of the local Berber families. Leaving the D’raa Valley you pass through the small Berber villages of N’Kob and Msisi which lay at the foot of the Jbel Saghro Mountains. Following an off-road route you continue onto M’harech Oasis with its magical setting. Tonight you camp under the stars of the Morocco desert. Overnight in M’harech Oasis – camping. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Morocco tours to Morocco Sahara DesertDays 5 – 7: Morocco Desert Camel Trek from M’Harech Oasis to Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)

This morning you begin your Morocco Sahara Desert trek through the hamada (earthen desert) and ergs (sand dunes) into the heart of the soaring Erg Chebbi sand dunes. You are fully supported by camels and can choose to ride your camel or walk (or both) as you are led on your Morocco desert camel trek by your local Berber guide. Your route through the vast Morocco Sahara Desert takes you through the small Berber oasis villages of Ramlia, Ouzina, Jdaid, and Taous (Taouz). Each night is spent camping in tents in the desert. Overnight in Morocco Sahara Desert – camping. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 8: MerzougaTodra Gorge – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate

You can rise early to watch the sunrise over the desert sand dunes and desert landscape. After breakfast you take the last leg of your camel trek to the Merzouga area. Continuing your exploration of the Moroccan desert after visiting the fossil area near Erfoud your travel via the Todra River and the marvellous Todra, nestled at the base of the High Atlas Mountains, and enter beautiful Todra Gorge. Heading further westward to the Berber town of Boumalne Dades here you join the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Following this Road your Morocco travel adventure passes through the Roses Valley and the Berber town of El K’elaa M’Gouna which is renowned throughout Morocco for the Berber daggers made in the local collective and its May Roses Festival and return to Ouarzazate. Overnight in Ouarzazate kasbah. (Breakfast)

Day 9: OuarzazateAit BenhaddouTelouetHigh Atlas MountainsSee the famous Morocco kasbahs as you travel in Morocco desert on our Morocco tours

Your Morocco travel adventure continues visiting the spectacular UNESCO world heritage ksar – kasbah village – of Ait Benhaddou. Ait Benhaddou has some of the Atlas region’s most exotic and best preserved Kasbahs and has featured in films including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Then saying farewell to the Moroccan desert you travel through the heart of the attractive Ounila Valley and begin your return journey into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Climbing into the Mountains you head to the mountain village of Telouet, the home village of the infamous Glaoui (the 20th century Pasha of Marrakech). Resuming your journey you re-cross the High Atlas Mountains and are rewarded with the stunning panoramic vistas westward as you follow the steep winding descent toward the scenically situated High Atlas Mountains’ Ourika Valley – one of the many beautiful valleys in this incredible mountain range. Overnight in High Atlas Mountains riad. (Breakfast)

Day 10: High Atlas Mountains Berber man in Morocco High Atlas Mountains

Continue your discovery of the High Atlas Mountains. Led by a Berber Mountain guide you walk/trek through valleys and charming High Atlas Mountains Berber villages as you explore more of this scenic area. (Option to hire mules to ride during the trek.) Overnight in High Atlas Mountains riad. (Breakfast)

Day 11: High Atlas MountainsMarrakech

The last leg of your Morocco travel adventure returns you to Marrakech. Afternoon free time to explore more of Marrakech, its gardens and architecture, shop for some bargains in the souk, relax in a hammam or enjoy the La Fantasia spectacle. Overnight in Marrakech riad. (Breakfast)

Day 12: Marrakech

Your Morocco travel adventure is at an end with your transfer to Marrakech Airport. Tour ends. (Breakfast)
